Between 11:49 PM PDT on October 19 and 3:01 PM PDT on October 20, AWS experienced a major service disruption in its US-EAST-1 region, causing increased error rates and latency across critical services including DynamoDB, EC2, Lambda, and Network Load Balancers.
This outage originated from DNS resolution issues within AWS DynamoDB endpoints, which cascaded into multiple downstream systems. As a result, 5X users may have seen DBT job failures, delayed data pipeline updates, or reduced platform responsiveness during this window.
AWS has since restored all affected services, and our engineering team has verified full recovery across the 5X platform. We continue to monitor all workloads closely to ensure ongoing stability and to detect any residual impact.
